Ruby Wax is an OBE-awarded British-American comedian, actress, writer, and mental health campaigner.
Ruby Wax is best known for BBC series including The Full Wax, Ruby, and Ruby Wax Meets…, for which she received a Royal Television Society Award. Her additional television and acting credits include Girls on Top and Absolutely Fabulous, alongside Jennifer Saunders. She began her career with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Ruby has written and performed a number of live shows, including Sane New World, Frazzled, and How to Be Human, which have toured internationally and played in the West End. She is currently touring her 2026 live show across the UK and internationally, with performances running until 7 July 2026.
She is also a bestselling author of titles including Sane New World, A Mindfulness Guide for the Frazzled, How to Be Human, and I’m Not As Well As I Thought I Was.
More recently, she appeared on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, introducing her to a broader audience and driving renewed demand across live and commercial work.
She was awarded an OBE in 2015 for services to mental health awareness and has received multiple honorary doctorates.
