Hannah Fry is a British mathematician, author, and broadcaster.
Hannah Fry is a Professor in the Mathematics of Cities at the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis at UCL, where she studies patterns in human behaviour.
Her research applies to a wide range of social problems and questions, from shopping and transport to urban crime, riots and terrorism. She is a mathematician, a best-selling author, an award-winning science presenter and the host of numerous popular podcasts and television shows.
In 2023, her series The Future with Hannah Fry launched on Bloomberg, bringing her signature intellectual heft and insight, peppered with her imitable wit, to American audiences. The series questions our collective future and what we want it to look like, with the breakthroughs in science and technology that will transform our lives and society, in a way that happens with us rather than to us.
Hannah regularly writes for the New Yorker, and her book, Hello World – How to be human in the age of the machine, was shortlisted for several of the world’s most prestigious non-fiction awards, winning the 2020 Asimov Prize.
