William Hague is a British politician, best known for serving as Leader of the Conservative Party (UK).
Lord Hague of Richmond has been a leading figure in British politics for more than three decades, serving as Leader of the Conservative Party and later as Foreign Secretary. He was Member of Parliament for Richmond for 26 years and, after announcing his intention to step down from frontline politics, concluded his Commons career as First Secretary of State and Leader of the House of Commons. Following his time in government, he joined the House of Lords and has become a widely respected commentator on foreign and domestic affairs, as well as a trusted adviser to a broad range of institutions and businesses. He is also a columnist for The Times and Chancellor of the University of Oxford.
