Charlie Walker is an adventurer, writer and motivational speaker.
Charlie’s bold expeditions have given him a wealth of first-hand experience through which he powerfully communicates his core themes of ambition, perseverance and positivity.
Charlie’s longest expedition was a 4-year bicycle journey reaching the furthest cape in each of Europe, Asia and Africa. On this journey he traversed 60 countries, confronting extremes of weather, remoteness and physical exhaustion.
Charlie is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a four-time recipient of the Transglobe Expedition Trust’s Mad but Marvellous award. He is the author of two books, and his work has featured in publications including The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph and Geographical magazine, as well as on BBC Radio 4 and the World Service.

More About Charlie Walker
In 2014, he descended the Lulua River, a little-known tributary of the Congo, in a leaking dugout canoe. This journey into effectively uncharted regions of the Democratic Republic of the Congo was fraught with rapids and waterfalls, threatened by hippos and crocodiles, and repeatedly disrupted by severe bouts of malaria and typhoid fever.
Beyond this, Charlie has walked 1,000 miles solo across the Gobi Desert, trekked 600 miles across Mongolia accompanied by a semi-feral pony and a stray dog he encountered in the forest, and traversed Papua New Guinea by foot and paddle to reach isolated communities deep within some of the world’s most inaccessible jungle.
