The Best Bands For Corporate Events: Live Music For Every Style

23 September 2026

A band can set the tone for the whole evening, but only if you book the right one.

A live band could mean a chart-topping group playing the songs everyone already knows, a 15-piece showband taking over the stage, a jazz trio easing people into dinner, or a roaming band accepting requests at the table. All are technically bands. But all create very different evenings.

The best bands for corporate events aren’t necessarily the biggest name or the one with the most musicians. It’s the one that fits the room, the audience, and the job you need the music to do.

Below, we’ve matched some of our favourite bands for corporate events to different music styles and moments. There are party bands, recording artists, roaming musicians, and plenty in between.

Party Bands, Showbands & Recording Artists: What’s The Difference?

Entertainment language can get a little crowded. Before we reach the bands themselves, here’s the useful version.

A party band, sometimes called a cover or function band, performs a broad repertoire of well-known songs. They’re perfect if you want an overall crowd-pleaser, because they often play a variety of songs.

A showband usually offers a larger line-up with multiple vocalists and musicians. The performance is designed to feel like a major part of the evening, more like a concert, as opposed to background noise.

A roaming band leaves the stage behind and performs among the audience. They can take requests, move between groups, and turn a drinks reception or dinner into something much more interactive.

A recording artist performs their own recognised songs. A celebrity band is sometimes used as shorthand for this type of booking, but it doesn’t tell you much about the music or whether the act suits your crowd.

The Best Bands For Corporate Events

Big Pop, Big Stage: London Showband

When the band needs to feel like the headline, London Showband is a good place to start.

The line-up can scale from five to 15 performers, making it suitable for everything from a polished awards dinner to a large company celebration with a proper production budget behind it. Its musicians have worked with artists including Elton John, Craig David, Sugababes, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Clean Bandit, and Kelis, while others have appeared in major West End productions.

The band has strong vocals, smart arrangements, and enough stage presence to make the switch from dinner to dancing feel entirely deliberate.

For awards ceremonies, gala dinners, milestone celebrations, and events that want the band to be one of the main talking points, London Showband is the one.

Pop Anthems & Dance-Floor Hits: Mayfair

Mayfair takes the songs people already love and builds a polished live show around them.

Their repertoire moves between current chart hits, dance anthems, and classics, with medleys and mash-ups keeping the set moving. They’ve performed at corporate events and award ceremonies in the UK and internationally, so they’re experts at knowing when the crowd needs a floor-filler or something more relaxed.

Choose Mayfair when you want wide appeal, plenty of pace, and a contemporary party band that can work across different age groups.

For corporate parties, Christmas celebrations, summer events, awards after-parties, and international audiences, Mayfair is a standout choice.

Soul, Motown & Disco: Dynasty

Some crowds want pop. Others want Motown or disco. Dynasty can do it all.

Their live arrangements cover classics alongside modern floor-fillers. The musicians have toured internationally and performed with artists including Justin Timberlake, Emeli Sandé, Jessie J, Jess Glynne, Rag’n’Bone Man, and Zara Larsson.

The result is perfect for black-tie dinners and luxury events that still need to end with people abandoning their sensible shoes under the table in exchange for flip flops or other dancing shoes.

If you’re planning black-tie events, client entertaining, gala dinners, company celebrations, or have mixed-age audiences, Dynasty is who you need to book.

’90s & 2000s R&B, UK Garage & Hip-Hop: Ignite

If your throwbacks come with a bit more bass, meet Ignite.

Their set is built around old-school R&B, UK garage, dance, and hip-hop from the late ’90s and early 2000s. It’s a more specific musical identity than the usual all-purpose party repertoire, which is exactly the point.

Ignite’s musicians have performed internationally and appeared at venues including Wembley Arena, The O2, and London’s Olympic Park. Bring them into a brand party, fashion event, or late-night corporate celebration for when you need more of a specific vibe.

Ignite are perfect for fashion and lifestyle events, brand parties, younger audiences, late-night celebrations, and anyone still emotionally attached to UK garage (consider us included).

House Music & Ibiza Energy: The Elite

The Elite sits somewhere between a live band and a night out.

With vocalists, saxophone, percussion, and the option to perform alongside a DJ, the act specialises in house music, current hits, and ’90s dance classics. The format gives you the flow of a DJ set while still having the visual and musical impact of live performers. It’s literally the best of both worlds.

They’ve appeared at events across Europe and Dubai for luxury and global brands.

If you’re arranging a product launch, fashion event, luxury celebration, destination event, or party that needs to carry on well beyond dinner, The Elite is our top recommendation.

Scouting For Girls brings its own catalogue of instantly recognisable indie-pop songs, including a UK number-one album and single.

After major tours and festival stages, this band’s live performances are upbeat, nostalgic, and easy for everyone to join in.

Thinking of a festival-style corporate event, large company party, summer celebration, or headline performance? Scouting for Girls is a must-book band.

Guitar Pop & Noughties Nostalgia: The Feeling

The Feeling brings the hooks, harmonies, and guitar hits of 2000s British pop to a live event.

They’re a wonderful fit when you want name recognition without losing the warmth of a band performance. Their set can bring a crowd together around familiar songs from an iconic era, making the band perfect for an awards ceremony or as the headline act at a summer party.

Feel-Good Rock & Singalongs: Toploader

Toploader knows how to turn a familiar opening into a full-room singalong.

Alongside their own anthems, the band can bring crowd-pleasing covers into the set. Years of festivals, tours, and large stages also mean they understand how to hold a room rather than simply play at it.

Book them when the brief calls for upbeat, feel-good live music at outdoor events, festival-themed parties, major company celebrations, and energetic headline sets.

’90s & 2000s Pop: Boyzlife

Boyzlife brings together Keith Duffy of Boyzone and Brian McFadden of Westlife for a set built around two enormous pop catalogues.

For audiences who grew up with both bands, the recognition is immediate, which makes Boyzlife a strong choice for milestone celebrations, client events, and company parties where a surprise reveal forms part of the evening.

Jazz, Swing & Modern Covers: Velvet Jazz Band

Live music doesn’t always need to stop every conversation in the room. Velvet Jazz Band can add atmosphere to a reception, then step forward when the programme calls for more of a performance.

Available as a duo or a six-piece line-up, the band plays jazz standards, swing classics, and contemporary songs reworked with a vintage feel. That flexibility makes them an ideal soundtrack for a drinks reception as they are supporting dinner or a themed celebration.

There’s also a roaming option with jazz guitar for events where a fixed stage would feel too distant from the audience.

1920s Jazz With A Modern Twist: Gatsby Band

If the theme is 1920s, Gatsby Band is prepared to commit properly.

The seven-piece line-up combines vocals, keys, double bass, guitar, trumpet, saxophone, and drums, with the option to add another vocalist. Their set moves between jazz, swing and modern songs reworked in a vintage style, so the theme can carry through the evening without limiting the music to one era.

Gatsby-style dancers could also join the performance, for a more complete entertainment package for immersive events. Sequins are not technically compulsory, but they would make sense.

Interactive Roaming Music: LDN Moving Band

A stage creates a focal point and sometimes you don’t want one of those.

LDN Moving Band performs among the audience, taking requests, improvising medleys, and moving between groups. The musicians really become part of the event rather than something guests watch from across the room.

A roaming band is perfect for the evening when people are ready for entertainment but not quite ready to stand in front of a stage all night.

Acoustic Pop & Jazz: Moon Rivers

Moon Rivers is a London-based acoustic duo whose set moves between jazz standards and modern pop.

Their arrangements are both acoustic and electronic, giving familiar songs a more relaxed sound. The duo’s performance suits an arrival reception, lunch, dinner, or smaller client event where the music should shape the atmosphere without demanding everybody’s full attention.

How To Choose The Right Band For A Corporate Event

1. What impact do you want the band to have?

Should they create an atmosphere as people arrive, break the ice during dinner, fill the dance floor, or deliver the headline moment of the night? A reception band and a late-night party band may not be the same booking.

2. Who is in the room?

Consider age range, musical tastes, company culture, and how well people know one another. A broad party set can unite a mixed audience, while a more specific genre works when it reflects the people, brand, or event theme.

3. How much space do you have?

A 15-piece showband needs a different stage, power supply, soundcheck, and backstage plan from an acoustic trio. Share the venue and floor plan early so the shortlist only includes acts that can work well in the space.

4. What happens before and after the set?

Think about dinner service, speeches, awards, a DJ, venue curfews, and how guests will move between each stage of the evening.

5. How much does it cost to hire a band for a corporate event?

The cost depends on the number of performers, the band’s profile, your date and location, performance length, travel, accommodation, production, and technical requirements. A smaller acoustic group and a recognised recording artist sit at very different ends of the brief.

Share your approximate budget with AOK Entertains and we can recommend realistic options, explain what is included, and flag any additional production costs from the beginning.

More FAQs

How far in advance should you book a corporate band?

As early as you can, particularly for Christmas dates, summer Thursdays, and recognisable artists. A lead time of several months gives you more choice, but shorter-notice bookings can still be possible depending on the act and event logistics.

Can we request particular songs?

Party bands can usually discuss song preferences, important tracks, and any definite no-thank-yous before the event. Recording artists will normally perform an agreed set based around their own catalogue. Requests and set details should always be confirmed as part of the booking.

Do bands provide their own sound and lighting?

Some acts offer a self-contained package, while larger bands and recording artists may work with the event’s production supplier or require equipment to an agreed technical specification. We’ll review the venue, stage, power, sound limits, access, and running order to make sure the practical setup supports the performance.

Can AOK Entertains source a band that isn’t on the website?

Yes! The website shows only a selection of the bands and artists available through our network. If you already have a name in mind, we can approach their representatives, check availability, and manage the booking. If you’re starting with a genre, mood, or half-finished playlist, we can always work with that too.
